Our name, Illinois Baseball Academy, is no accident. As the former New Trier Head Coach, I have been teaching kids of all ages and ability levels how to play baseball for the past 20 years. Prior to becoming a coach, I captained the Northwestern University team and played professionally in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. During the years I spent as a high-school English teacher and baseball coach, I noticed that excellent baseball players, like excellent students, achieved more when they were taught by passionate and accomplished instructors.
My goal in creating the Illinois Baseball Academy is to bring professional level instruction to young players and elite players alike. Whether you are considering individual lessons or clinics, our methods are based on a collective playing and coaching resume that is second to none. Like a true "Academy" we exist to promote growth and independence in all of our "students."

Illinois Baseball Academy employs some of the most accomplished and dynamic coaches on the North Shore. So, whether you are working with one of our former Major Leaguers, professional players, or college stand-outs, you are guaranteed to learn from an expert with a passion for teaching!
However, true instruction is based on a philosophy and rooted in a methodology. Our seasoned instructors know what works, and, more importantly, they know how to teach it. We consciously tailor drills to suit a player's age and ability-level because we are committed to helping our clients succeed and enjoy this wonderful game of baseball.
